Adliswil in short
Adliswil is one of the 171 municipalities in the canton of Zurich. The various municipalities are collected into districts;Adliswil belongs tho the district of Horgen.
Adliswil is situated in the valley of the Sihl, between the chain of the Albis hills in the west and the Zimmerberg hills in the east.
Adliswil has 15’500 inhabitants, making it one of the largest -municipalities in the canton of Zurich. Because of its size and political structure, Adliswil can call itself a city.
Approximately 21% of the inhabitants of Adliswil (ca. 3,370 --people) are foreigners. Additionally, about 30 people are seasonals workers.

Adliswil has three bus lines, all of which serve Adliswil station (the lines are Oberleimbach, Wacht and Büchel).
Sihltaltrain-Zurich-Uetliberg (SZU)
This ist the local train line between the valley of the Sihl, Zurich (main station) and the Uetliberg, which is a popular destination for tourists. The local stations are Sihlau, Adliswil and Sood-Oberleimbach).
Bus line184
Connects Adliswil with Zurich-Wollishofen (where you will find the tram line to Zurich) and Sanitas Hospital in Kilchberg.
Cableway Adliswil-Felsenegg (LAF)
The only cableway in the canton of Zurich. The station is on Zelgstrasse 80.
